Finding Peace in the Chaos through Nurturing Your Stillness

Time to time in our lives we can be surrounded by chaos in many forms and today I wanted to remind you of the power of meditation and learning to become very very rich within you.

Rich within your self awareness, within your stillness, within your heart centre, within your chest and your mind.

As I walked down into the garden this morning to talk to you about this, of course, at divine timing, the jetski’s arrived, the landscapers pulled up next door, the whipper snippers started up, the cicadas then had a go and even though there was chaos surrounding me, I realised that it was actually all divine timing and divinely perfect.

When we learn to listen to the stillness, when we learn to not be afraid of the quiet and rich stillness within us, we can then learn to make it our own no matter where we are, what we are doing or what is surrounding us.

When we nurture our strength of spirit, it really encourages us and gives us incredible power when we are going through trialling experiences. Whether it is at work, at home, a breakup, big change or deep grief from a traumatic experience, if we have already built this richness inside of us, it is like a breath of fresh air in the middle of foggy, crowded, smoggy room.

I really honor the process of getting to know ourselves through meditation and I hope that you can take the time to do that today, tomorrow, the next day, just keep nurturing the stillness within yourself.

In the Desiderata they talk about this beautiful phrase that says ‘nurture your strength of spirit for this will shield you in times of misfortune’. I believe it is so so true if you take a little bit of time to nurture your spirit in some way, shape or form. It could be through:

  • Sitting in a quiet room
  • Having a nice cup a herbal tea or a big glass of water
  • Looking out at nature
  • Closing your eyes & sitting in a cool room in the stillness
  • Going for a walk or doing some yoga

If you take that time to nurture your spirit, then when everything starts to get really busy, it is like you will have a bank account inside you of stillness and remembering what stillness is.

I’d like you to remember today to

  1. Nurture your spirit
  2. Nurture your quiet time
  3. Let it be with you always
